BORROWING: Readers need to take the items that they want to borrow to the enquiry desk with their library card. The items will be issued on their record and the due date will be stamped on the date label.

Time allowed for borrowing is different for each item:
Type of item Time
Standard Loans 1 month
Short Loans 1 week
Duplicate Journals 1 week

Reference items are to be used in the library. Journals are reference but duplicate copy of journals can be borrowed for 1 week.

OVERDUE BOOKS: If items are overdue, the library will send notices and fines will be payable on the items. Readers cannot borrow any items if they are charged £5 or more, also they will not be able to reserve any item if they are charged £3 or more. However, readers are able to renew their items if there is no reservation on them.

Current fine rates per item:

Type of Loan

Standard Loans 15p per day
Short Loans 30p per day

If a reader exceeds £5 limit, there will be 3p extra charge per day. 3p per day will be added to the total amount for late payment.

Payment for fines can be made by cash or cheque (made payable to the Islamic Foundation).
